Sacramental Information

   

BAPTISM (see the FAQ page for more information)

Infant - Infant Baptisms are scheduled through the Parish Office at 847-362-2073  Baptisms are scheduled for each Sunday at 1:45 p.m. which is after the 12:30 p.m. Liturgy.  On the second Sunday of each month, Baptisms take place during the Saturday 5:00 p.m Liturgy or during the Sunday 12:30 p.m. Liturgy, and not at 1:45 p.m.

Monthly Baptismal Preparation Classes are offered on the second Monday of each Month at 7:30 p.m. in the Koenig Center.  Please call the Parish Office to schedule your session.  Classes must be attended before the actual baptism date.  It is suggested that both parents attend as well as the Godparents, if possible.    

School-Age Children - Preparation classes for parents and children begin in September.  Call 847-362-5797or information.

CONFIRMATION

Adult Confirmation - Sessions to prepare adults (18 and over) for the Sacrament of Confirmation are held each year beginning in Lent.  Contact Catherine Sims at 847-990-1238 or csims@stjoseph-libertyville.org for details.  You can also fill in this form and return it to the address on the form to begin the process.

FIRST COMMUNION

MARRIAGE (see the FAQ page for more information)

Congratulations!  Please contact the parish office as soon as you are engaged.  4 months is usually required for marriage preparation.  Pre-Cana session and Foccus (Facilitating Open Couple Communication and Study) is required for St. Joseph engaged couples.  The first step is to contact the priest or deacon of your choice to set your date and do the initial paperwork and interview.  Click here for the marriage prep booklet we give to our couples.    

MINISTRY OF CARE/SACRAMENT OF THE SICK

The Sacrament of the Sick is celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Mass on the 2nd Saturday of each month, or by arrangement.  Contact the parish office if seriously ill, hospitalized, or homebound.  A Minister of Care is available to bring Communion.  Click here for compete information about the Sacrament of Healing.  

RECONCILIATION (PENANCE)

This sacrament is celebrated each Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m or by appointment.  There are communal opportunities during Advent and Lent.  Call the parish office at 847-362-2073 for information on the communal opportunities.
